11:12 pm - looking for someone to take over our lease

Hey my roomate and I are looking over to take over our lease for the rest of the year. We need someone to move in by the beginning of Jan until July with an option to renew the lease if you want after that. Its a 2 bdrm/ 1 bath townhouse with a dining room. The rooms are really big and both have double closets. Theres a washer and dryer in unit as well as a dishwasher and AC/ heater. We also have our own private backyard and not to mention pretty cool neighbors. The rent is $375 a month and you are allowed small animals and cats. If anyone is interested or knows anyone who might be please let me know because we are trying to get this figured out as soon as possible!

Anyway my name is Kendall and since I have a HUGE coarse load this semester (which i am fully excited about) i thought i'd try and meet people now to get some of the nervous..please don't avoid me oh shit i have to do homework stuff out of the way. So if youre cool...REPLY or post or something because im cool and cool kids belong together-yyy

11:59 am - hmmm....

i just noticed that, as cool as it seems, this community;
A) never posts
B) has almost no members
C) the creator/owner doesn't live in chico, or belong to the community
D) the community doesn't even list chico as an interest so people prolly can't find it.
E) now i'm no genius but if its important enough to keep around, with help i could try to get it kicking again. anyone interested?

and if i'm mistaken about any of my info then just ignore me, it works, i do it.

11:40 am - just joined up.

just thought i'd say hello, since i joined the group. my name's Jake, i grew up here, moved away for 5 years and um, well, i think i'm back? as cool as it can be i think chico is a jealous mistress and doesn't like to let anyone go, for long. so all my friends have since moved away and i'm not working or living in my own space, but i don't really feel the Kerouac-ey freedom of a homeless wanderer, drats. i'm interested in meeting people for romps thru the park or immobile romps through a cafe. btw i need to know the best local cafe, my old one, sadly, sells crappy coffee now. oh and any good pubs, with style and 20 some odd wonderous beers on tap? hell any suggestions of worthwhile places that weren't here 5 years ago would be much appreciated.

7:39 pm - hey:)
chicoexchange i know, i'm new you dont know me. it's great isnt it? i'm a chick on exchange at csuc for the semester from Indiana. I'm tryin' to start up a chapter of NSCS (national society for collegiate scholars) here. It's really neat, but i need to find some students to be officers. It's basically an academic and service organization that gives some great scholarship, job, and internship opportunities. So-- the deal is that one must have a 3.5+ gpa and be here next year in order to be an officer. If anyone has any advice or is interested, holla at me either thru lj or e-mail!!!! thanks!

7:18 pm - um, hi.

I have never been to Chico. I do not live in Chico. I live in a boring, little, pissant, midwest, podunk college town of South Bend, Indiana. My college town, however, is not as (apparently) exciting as yours. While Notre Dame does have students from all over the world, it is a closed campus and they have everything they need inside their little town, there. Even a Starbucks. Well, not a real one. It is a cafe that serves Starbucks Coffee. But there is, in fact, no actual, REAL Starbuckses (wherein the employees are actually employees of Starbucks, Inc.) within a 100 mile radius (that would be Chicago).

So why am I interested in Chico? I have a friend who is from there and RAVES about it. The interesting thing is, while he has been to and lived in several parts of the country and the world, he keeps going back to Chico. And he won't move unless he absolutely HAS to (which he might pretty soon). So I'm like, this must be one cool place, this Chico.

Also, your beer. I tried some Sierra Nevada when I was in DC for a benefit dinner in October...I mean, it's the East Coast, so it was out of the bottle, but it was the BEST beer out of a bottle I've ever had...which doesn't say much, seeing as I don't drink all THAT much and haven't had that many different beers to begin with, lol. But oh, did I lurve it. I had some off the tap when I was in San Diego later that month. With my chicken marsala. And it was good. Um, anyway, I only recently found out, when I was with Ryan (that is, my friend that is from Chico) in Cleveland, that beer was from Chico. And I was like, DUUDE NO WAY! That's like my favorite beer! Well, besides Guinness.

Anyway, yeah. I am a member of the Chico fan club baby. You guys all seem pretty cool, too. And my friend is cool, so like, in my mind, Chico = cool people. And really big, pretty parks. I'm thinking about coming out there for a kayaking trip in April. And of course a trip to that brewery. And maybe I'll hang out with Ryan for a couple seconds heheh.

10:17 pm - Old CSUC student

I am new to the community and I do not live in Chico. I went to Chico State and I lived there for a year or two after I graduated. I used to work at Chico Paper Co., right across the street from the park downtown. I really miss the town!! I visited about a year ago and it has changed a ton!! Still has some of the old standards. The potato's at Italian Cottage is worth the trip alone!! well just wanted to say hi, and hope to see what's going on in Chico!!

what we all need to do is go to chico state, because there are plenty of normal people there with adorable emo haircuts, all-star sneakers, and modest mouse t-shirts. or at least there were last thursday.

tenarius I can just feel the interest in chico thrilling through the veins of this livejournal community. since I don't live in chico, I can't really think of anything interesting or relevant to say about it.

could it be that the lack of interesting activity on this livejournal community is symbolic of the lack of interesting activity in chico? somebody needs to make this community more interesting! and chico, while they're at it. unfortunately I am not that somebody.
